After a long, warm, lively summer, those who live on the Costa del Sol welcome the change of temperature and pace that comes with autumn. This sentiment is mirrored by golfers across Europe, for whom September also heralds in the beginning of a new golfing season in what is the mecca of the sport on the European continent. The Costa del Sol – sometimes named the Costa del Golf – has the largest concentration of quality courses in Europe, yet within it there is a spot that is quite simply synonymous with the sport.
Marbella’s Golf Valley
Set at the heart of Nueva Andalucía – a lofty residential area just inland from Puerto Banús – the Golf Valley features four of the finest courses in southern Spain, including: Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, Los Naranjos, Aloha and La Quinta. Here you will find not only some of the finest courses and viewpoints in Europe, but also superb training facilities, coaching, equipment hire, pro shops and elegant clubhouses with excellent restaurants, bar/lounges, hospitality facilities and in some cases even spas and gyms.
Each season, which runs from approximately September to June, the Marbella region welcomes large numbers of golf enthusiasts from around the world, as well as leading amateurs and professionals participating in a variety of competitions.
There are also many charity and amateur competitions you can enter across the Costa del Sol, so get into the swing of things and make your way to the Golf Valley this season.
